The Diabetes Centre is situated in the outpatient department, opposite the Green Suite.
The Diabetes Nurse Specialists are available between 9am-5pm.
If you wish to speak to the Diabetes Nurse Specialist, it is preferable to ring between 9pm-12noon when possible, or alternatively leave a message on the answering machine.
If you are concerned and are not able to contact the diabetes nurse specialist please contact your own doctor.
On clinic appointment days please bring the following:
• Diabetes record book
• Medications list
• Glucose meter
• Insulin pens or syringes (if applicable
Please ensure that you have had your blood and urine tests the week before your appointment date (bring with you the first urine sample of the day in the bottle provided). The tests can be done either at the Hospital’s pathology department or by arrangement with your local surgery.
